Classmate Updates

Corrected:
I trust that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. Only a handful of 97ers were at the Broadway on Wednesday night, but we enjoyed The Jimmy Davis Band thoroughly. I managed to get one new contact from Tommy Wehner.

I thought that I would give little updates for some more of our classmates. It seems that so many of us are married (in several cases to each other) and many of us are still around Madison. I spoke to Haley Snelling who is ready to pop with her third child and living near North Vernon. Lori Brown married Josh Herring; Regan Broad married Jason Bentz; Maxine Novak married Kenny Uebel; Feather Rowlison married James Jester; Tera Taylor married Billy Hughes; and Alice Anderson married David Owens. Others married Madison alumni from different classes. For example, Doug Kindle married Erin King of '00, Doug Pimlot married Margie Kinyon of '98(they just moved to Georgia with only their clothes and are sleeping in sleeping bags until they can get their furniture down), Desori Kring married Rian O'Bannion of '95, Kelli Reed married Burton Chambers of '94; Heather Eicher married Matt Leininger of '95; and John Hite married Tolisha Shotmiller (sp) of '98. It's all pretty interesting to discover.

There are several of us around Louisville, including Kati Widich, Natalie Phillips, Beth Fisher, Caleb Richardson, Chris Casper and Stephen Kirkpatrick. Amy Kring also is in Louisville and, believe it or not, training to be a police officer and eventually a CSI. It seems that Kelly Scott is working with horses in some capacity. Lynzy Armstrong is a librarian at Hanover College while Ben Rogers is a librarian in Chicago. Sterling Williams also works at Hanover College. Candace Herrell is in Georgia while Melissa Cockrell is in Tennessee. Erin Chapman is all the way out in Wyoming, Erica Dunagan is a mortgage broker in San Diego, while at least three classmates (Jeremy Johnson, Nick Getz-married to Regan Gettlefinger of '98- and Mark Smith) are company account auditors in Indianapolis. Kara Dryden, Brooke Robbins, Christina Baker and Megan Bullington (all married) are teaching in the Indianapolis area. Erin Klopp who was married just this weekend, will soon be joining our numbers here in Indianapolis and seeking a job in guidance counseling. Brinya Rimstidt is also in Indy climbing the corporate ladder at a company called Siemens. Jennifer Abbott is working in community outreach in Indy while Kammie Woodfill is an occupational therapist in Noblesville. Sean Kimmel is earning a graduate degree in Agricultural Engineering at Purdue University; I'm told that Allen Fox is also at Purdue working towards a degree. Abby Jackson is continuing her education at IUS while teaching full time in Jennings County. Kendra Gordon is a big time lawyer for Rolls Royce and getting to travel the world dealing with their international contracts. Ben Canida has carried on the family tradition and become a dentist in downtown Madison. Also around town, you'll find Adam Jones and Kelli Reed, both working at Rotary Lift. Kami Holt (married to Mark True of '96) and Amber Oliver are both nurses at KDH, and Tasha Wells is a loan officer (or mortgage broker) at Main Source Bank. Cari Barnes, Bre Crane, Ashlie Petrokas, Melanie May, Eli Chandler, Denny Kent, Kyle Ford, Tim Marshall, Gabe Hearne, Stephanie Kappes, David Rankin, David Riley and Wes Sauer are all in town along with countless others. Brandi Dryden is teaching high school math in Raleigh, NC. Annie Hoffman is also living in NC working as a photographer. Eli Center and Gayle Putrich are both in our nation's capital. Perhaps the most successful of us, in terms of $$, is Josh Bear who is launching his own company in computer game design right there in Madison. The farthest away is likely Heather Eicher, who is living in Koloa, HI working as a fitness instructor with a focus in Sports Yoga. I mentioned that Danny Hallow just received his PhD and just took a job with Bristol-Meyer Squibb as a research scientist. A few of us are even in the military, stationed in various places, including Kenny Coker, Donnie Koontz and Josh Jester.
There seems to be a lot of success to report with very few sad stories. Please feel free to include your own updates or those of other classmates whom were not mentioned. I do hope that the information that I have included is accurate and that it was okay to mention. I do love hearing how people are doing as I'm sure you do as well.

Great to hear how everyone is doing. Congrats to all of those who got hitched!

I'm writing/producing/directing television commercials for Insight Media out of Greenwood (thinking of moving up there too as I now live in Columbus). I'm a little sick of working for, "the man", so I'm currently working on starting my own production business.

I'm also hitting the amateur stage at Crackers in Broad Ripple every now and then and also doing some (read: 1) paying gigs. I also write for a website I co-founded with a college buddy. www.stolensoap.com go now!

Hope everyone's doing well!

Mike Leach here, Tasha Jenkins (Wells) sent me a link to this website. This is the first time I have had a chance to find any info about my fellow students. Nice to hear all the good news and success stories. I am very sad to hear about Jake. Since high school I have been married, divorce, and engaged again with no kids. I graduated from Purdue and currently work for MainSource Financial Group as a PC Analyst / Windows Server Administrator. Live and work in Greensburg Indiana.

I see you are still looking for Shawn Sullivan. He lives downtown Madison in an apartment on Elm Street. He just recently had a baby. Also Corey Moderau lives in Bloomington last time I talked to him. Damn, 10 years already!

Hey everyone! It is really great to hear that so many of us are doing well. Believe it or not, I never got married, but I do have my two girls who are six and four now. I got engaged once, but it didn't work out. I am in school at Kaplan University right now working on getting my bachelor's in Criminal Justice. Who would have thought? Anyway, I just wanted to say hello to everyone and I can't wait to see you all again. 10 years, doesn't seem like it.

Odilay, from Aspen, CO. It's Kara Heath. I hope everyone is well and staying healthy. I moved to Houston, TX and started working for Wells Fargo at 20, and then relocated here two years ago. It's been great. I'm working hard, and having so much fun living in the mountains, as the lifestyle is so different. There are no fast food restaurants, except for McDonalds. The nearest Wal-mart is an hour away, and gas is outrageous. But I had dinner next to Mariah Carey at my boyfriend's restaurant two nights ago, which was kind of swell. Anyhow, I will mos def try and make it home to attend this thing. I can also provide some updates on a few MIAs, offline, of course. You can reach me at 970.274.4000 or at myspace under "kara lynn". Peace!!
