Class of 97 Reunion

It's booked

So I went ahead and booked the 22nd of September at the Clifty Inn. No one asserted that it would not work for them and since the Chautauqua is not until the following weekend, I stuck to my promise of making it a non-eventful weekend. So please mark your calenders and tell everyone that may not know.

I also reserved the only 8 rooms that were left available at the Inn. Those need to be booked by August 4th of next year before they are released to the public; just mention Madison class of 97. I am sorry that there are not more, but there are a few other hotels in the area and so many of our parents and classmates are still there. I know that my parents would not mind at all if anyone needed to crash in the two extra beds they have and hopefully some classmates will offer any extra room as well. The number for the inn is toll free 877-925-4389.

I was also sent a menu and prices for the event room and added with drink, decoration and entertainment, it looks like it will $35 a person and I'm not sure we can swing the discount for two. That could change when we know exactly how many people may be on board and we actually have everything booked. I hope that enough notice has and will be given for everyone to swing that amount, but let me know of any concerns. I will work hard to get the best price for everything.

Now some detail questions:

DJ or Band?
Dinner or Hors D'ouevres?
Beer and Wine or Both plus Liquor?

I would say it would probably be cheaper if we had a pay-as-you-drink bar, so that those who want to get really intoxicated can, without everyone else having to absorb the cost. I also think a DJ would be better, because what band can we get to sing the #1 song from the week we graduated (MmmBop!)? Of course, there may be some people in our class that are in a band...

I think the band thing sounds good, but I also know a great DJ if we decide to go that route. OH-beer and wine-sweet!

I like the idea of a cash bar. Also, do we have any quotes on DJ/band options?
